What is Overboard?

Overboard is Chris’s exclusive salon magic show, created specifically for superyacht entertainment.

Chris travels from shore directly to your yacht and performs a bespoke hour-long experience for family, guests, or charter clients. Rather than relying on large staging or technical production, the show focuses on intimate interaction, elegant magic, and unforgettable moments.

The performance takes place in the yacht salon, so the atmosphere stays relaxed, immersive, and personal throughout.

Show Business on Holiday

Throughout the show, guests take part in the magic themselves. As a result, every performance feels spontaneous, personal, and genuinely surprising.

Chris combines card magic, mind reading, and interactive routines with a warm sense of humour that immediately puts guests at ease. Then, just when the audience believes they understand where the evening is heading, the show builds toward a thrilling finale worthy of the title “Overboard.”

Afterwards, Chris quietly disappears back into the night, leaving guests talking about the experience long after the final applause.

Who can watch Overboard?

Although the show feels sophisticated and elegant, guests of every age enjoy the experience. Chris has entertained audiences ranging from three-year-olds to ninety-three-year-olds, and many guests even invite their favourite crew members to join the audience.

When is Overboard best enjoyed?

Most guests choose to enjoy Overboard during the evening, particularly at cocktail hour or between dinner courses. However, because the performance takes place inside the yacht salon, the show works equally well during the day or late into the night.

In addition, the flexible format allows the performance to fit naturally around the rhythm of the charter rather than interrupt it.

Photographs

As a member of The Magic Circle, Chris treats client privacy with complete discretion. Therefore, owners, charter guests, and brokers can relax knowing the atmosphere on board remains private and respectful throughout the event.

Guests are welcome to take photographs during the show and capture memories of the evening. However, to protect client confidentiality, Chris does not photograph private events himself.

We love that guests want to tell their friends about the show. We do ask that they keep the finale a secret, so that others may also enjoy it!

Most guests enjoy their privacy while travelling. Chris respects that, so no precise locations or vessel names are revealed, which ensures security for all on board is respected. No photos are taken unless the client insists. Often a family chartering a yacht for a holiday will want a memory of each experience, and so they will suggest a group photo with their superyacht magician!

What type of yacht entertainment do you provide?

Chris provides two main options of entertainment on board. The first is his parlour show Overboard – and the sequel Overkill. This is perfect for a more structured setting where guests relax in the comfort of the saloon and watch Chris perform for an hour or more.

Where do you perform?

Magic can be performed all over the world. Chris has performed at a privately-hired beach resort wedding in Mexico, on yachts on the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and South Pacific seas as well as in villas in North and South hemispheres.

Do the crew benefit from bringing you on board?

Absolutely, yes! For those on shift, they will have an hour without guest requests. All Chief Stews and Captains will know that this will be a gift on a stretch of back to back charters during high season. Chris will entertain the guests leaving the crew to catch up on work or take a much needed rest…that, or they may be invited to watch the show!

Can the show be performed on land, such as in our villa?

Yes indeed! Chris loves to work with his environment and make the show about the venue where he performs. He has performed on private beaches, at villas in Provence, and dockside at yacht shows.

Is the entertainment suitable for charter guests?

This show is suitable for charter guests and owners alike. It’s often that one or two of the crew will also watch and enjoy the performance.

How many guests can attend?

Overboard is show is designed for up to 20 guests, which is perfect as most saloons on board will sit around 12. For yacht parties at F1 weekend or New Year’s Eve, the yacht can be full of people. This is where Chris will wander each deck and find people in need of magic!

Can the show be adapted for families and children?

The show is designed for everyone to enjoy. At one event, the youngest guest was 3 years of age, and the eldest was 93! Everyone on board loved the magic as much as the next person.

How much space is needed onboard?

Chris can perform within a space of 3-5 metres, however he uses the room to make the show feel bespoke for each vessel and each group of guests. The perfect setup for the show is a semi circle of sofa or armchairs around a coffee table. Chris will perform in front of that. The important thing to remember is that the can be performed anywhere, so once on board your superyacht magician will work with the Chief Stewardess to create the best experience for all.

You can fill in the enquiry form with as many details as possible and you will usually receive a response in under 3 hours. You are welcome to phone the number at the bottom of the page, or directly send an email.

Please include: your name, your role on board, estimated anchor location for the show, date and estimated time of the show (we recommend evening, once the day is cooler), and the number of guests on board.

Is the show suitable for yacht shows and dockside events?

Yes! Chris recommends his close-up magic at yacht shows. This draw attention to your stand within an already busy environment. He can hold visitors’ attention until your sales team are available to talk.

For a set-piece show, this can be perfect just before the show closes for the day and the after-parties begin. A larger piece of magic for a huge group of people will create a memorable moment for attendees of the yacht show.
